2012: A new year - Posted by Tophy on 01-19-2012 18:01:57

So, another new year has come and I am anxious to try and forget about 2009, 2010, and even 2011. There were some ups but frankly the downs outweighed the ups and that bothers me and I can't help but just be at that point where I refuse 2012 to be the same way. I've been entertaining the idea of working out more and losing weight - living a better life. Most of it just to find another distraction besides music to focus my thoughts and my energy. I want to get back into recording and singing, training my voice back into doing what I was really good at: soul singing. It was my therapy... still is. It's how I've expressed myself over the years. I also want to start using stuff that I have purchased and have not even gotten my use out of. For example, probably 3 years ago I bought a High Definition video camcorder that records to an internal hard drive. I've probably only used this camera maybe 30 times..... in 3 years. My friends on YouTube accomplish that with their newer cameras in one month. So, I'm probably going to start some vlogs again or film some more weddings.. anything I can. I'd love to get back in to Photography but while my camera for pictures is decent I will be honest... I'm really looking at buying a Canon or Nikon. I'm HORRIBLE with building up money in savings! I will buy crap on a whim! I know it! Oh well! Something to look forward to! :)

Work has been busy and steady. Working hard to keep my stats up and trying to be a good supervisor for my employees and be patient and understanding. I have my days where this really tests my nerves and patience but I'm really trying.

Tax time is around the corner so I'm forcing myself to have this concept in mind: Savings. Put it instantly in savings and leave it alone. I need to start building savings for emergencies or things that I want and add to it with my paychecks and let it gain interest. It'll help also when I want to further explore my education.

I just wanted to update where I am at in the new year, things I want to do and plans that I have. If I don't put it physically out there for .. let's face it... myself to see I'll lose focus throughout the rest of the year. Not this year. :)

Yay! It's my birthday tomorrow! Doing a little bit of celebratin' tonight! Possibly a date? We'll see. Not holding my breath on that one! :)
